Is the modus operandii to remove the cover plate on the pto output then the bearing carrier to reveal the gear then pull it from the casing or is there other works to do first when changing the gear to a new crossdrilled ashcroft unit.

Theres loads of video just been added to youtube about this subject. Landrover toolbox is the video name about transfer box and input gears. Watch that and itl show you everything you need to no

Depends on what ratio you have in your lt230. Ive been told a few different things but ashcrofts website has some info. James Martin disagrees! I had play in mine but it got scrapped before I had a chance to try removing a 1.2 gear which may or may not come out through pto.

You can pull it thru the pto cover. And you can remove the big cover with 6 to 8 srews in and get it all out that way
