I've got a custom made All Wheel Trim cover that was designed for the rear of my double cab. Very nicely made and pretty robust, with a bit to go over the spare wheel when mounted, but they are pretty pricey. Managed to get mine off eBay so keep your eyes peeled.

Wasn't there a problem with plastic rods holding the heads centred on the block on early TD5's? I believe that sometimes the rods could deform through the heat allowing the head to move....

I fitted my steering guard (Mantec one and boy is it chunky!), and then managed to get a s@dding tree stump to travel down between the steering guard and the tyre and ding my track-rod.. Must have had a good 5mm clearance either side :rolleyes: Hence I also now have a Sumo bar replacement...

As far as I know anti-stall only works in low range which would explain it. LR did a very impressive demonstration on an off-road day recently where he stopped half way down a pretty steep hill and then used anti-stall in reverse to reverse back up the hill.

Don't know whether it would help but I bought a 1Kg reusable dry bag on eBay which I keep under the rear seats. Absorbs about 80% of its weight in water before you bung it in the oven on low to dry it out. I remove it about every 3 months, and even though my Defender doesn't seem to have any...

Am I right in saying that the surface area in contact with the ground is entirely dependent on the tyre pressures? As I understand it, with wider tyres you get a wider and shorter contact patch, whereas with 235/85R16's for instance you get a narrower but longer contact patch. Hence you need...
