Freelander prop shaft gaitor, good news

I have a metro boot and my front prop shaft out - the gaiter does fit but not in the way the original did, it will cover the bolt heads, there is also a comment on here that the metro boots tend to come off. I'd love to see how the original ones fit, I suspect it involves dismantling the cv...

    front propshaft removal

Hi all - I want to remove the front prop shaft to work on it, can I do this without removing the vcu and rear prop shaft, it's only about 1500 miles since it was all out to replace the VCU and it's bearings so it shouldn’t be to corroded?

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply - i was under the impression that jate rings worked with the set up on defenders and discos but not freelanders but i could be wrong - my freelander (2001 three door) has an eye at the front but i suspect it is for lashing down rather than towing? looks...

For two weeks now i've owned a 2001 3 door 1.8 GS brought from a local land rover specalist and so far i'm chuffed to bits with it :) - the dealer says it has had the head done verified when he did the 71000 mile service. After reading the advice in this thread I've brought the remote thermostst...
