right my sister drives a 95 300tdi disco and recently the ass end on it seems to skip about, defo feel it when sat in the back, and apperently its a nightmare when towing a horse box? its been taken to the local garage who couldnt make sense of it! (great), anyway due to ill health i cant lie...

right! well for the sake of £25ish think im going to change the lift pump and fingers crossed......... and if not- besides burning the bloody thing il give the hoses/fuel system another check seems to be endless number of things on these discos that all can and have caused the same running issues:(

yeah cheers, checked this at weekend and yes was full of munk, good clean and made her tick over smoother but nothing else,pipes seemed ok aswell.

yeah sorry:rolleyes: would blanking an egr valve off yet leaving it in place cause any problems! i.e removing flexi pipe and blanking off inlet pipe and the valve?

yeah tried turning motor over half a turn and nothing!! def losing power on hills but also 4th and 5th in general unless going down hill! seems to get hard to rev out in 3rd and flat there after!

wot/when/how does the egr valve do?

300tdi disco wont really pull in 4th and 5th and lumpy/smokey when started from cold!! have replaced fuel/air filter,cleaned sedimiter/intercooler/hoses. my lift pump wont manualy pump fuel out of bleed on the filter and has no resistance! i take it the lift pump pulls fuel from the tank into...

bit of an up-date , changed fuel/air filter and cleaned fuel housing found up under the rear (sediment is it??) also changed all hoses and inter cooler for known good ones and still no change, im looking at the lift pump now iv read on hear that when i un do the bleed bolt on the fuel filter and...

its not the hose its the intercooler that i think has a slight leak :(

right, changed air and fuel filter and no joy! checked all turbo hoses are all are ok! took off intercooler and with hand over one end blew down the other and can hear a very slight leak? will this be enough to cause this kind of power loss!!!

tyre sizes are the same, havent really checked hoses as well as i could have so will have a good check 2mo along with changing the filter! noticed it wont rev above 4000rpm in 3rd and well off that in 4th and 5th?

after repairing the sisters disco over xmas and geting to drive it for a few weeks i had to have one! found and bought a m-reg tdi discovery es on sunday, anyway seems to drive fine in around town ect 1st/2nd/3rd type driving but seems slow and dosent really want to pull very well in 4th and 5th...
