Thanks for the replies New springs looked exactly the same as the old ones but as for tension not sure...haven't changed the slave cylinders as yet altho I do have some new ones...adjusters fully backed off...collapsed brake pipe, now that would make sense, they don't look the best...new lines...

Heres a good one - completely baffling me just replaced the front 11" shoes on my 88, new springs etc now all is well for about 1/2 mile then the brakes seem to get stronger and stronger, pedal travel reduces, until they are on fully...leave it for 10minutes come back and all is well...

So as mine is reg 1975, would mean that sometime during her life the hubs if not the complete axle has been changed for a newer one?

The ole girl is in north essex, lost her white stilletoes at the mo tho... Have ordered some 109 shoes...hopefully they will fit and all will be well again...:)

Been looking at some images on google and have possibly come to the same conclusion, but is there a sure fire way to check?

Bought two axle sets of brake shoes for my 1975 swb s3, changed the rear ones in less than half hour, really pleased, hoped the fronts would be just as easy to change. Took the hub off, only to find that it looks completely different???????...wider shoes and what looks like two slave cylinders...

Hello Can't see that being a problem or you could get hold of a multimeter and put it across the positive feed to the light with the switch on you should get a reading then working back to the switch check all the connections...I had a similar problem with my side lights, in the end it was a...

Hiya In part of doing my S3 up I purchased some Britpart light guards both front and rear, the fronts fit quite nicely but the back ones if you centre the lights in the guard then it sticks out beyond the rear quarter and if you place the guard within the edges of the body the lights are off...

I've got a bit of a "WHO ATE ALL THE PIES" issue and find some bucket seats too tight and as I'm looking to use my s3 on the road aswell as off road I was wanting to replace the seats with inbetweenies...Any recommendations ??

I've had a search round the forum regarding recaro seats and have found that a few have fitted Vauxhall recaros but I was wondering if anyone has fitted Ford RS Turbo recaros to a series 3 and if so how much fettling was needed...cheers
