I changed the head unit on mine a while ago too. Mine's a 1990 so it has the head unit in front of the gear levers as well. It was a tight fit but it fits into the hole nicely. If it helps, the new one is some Pioneer model. I think they sell some kind of spacers if your head unit is too big...

Guilty as charged! But, before I hardly used the Disco - it used to sit on my drive for months at a time. Hence the little maintenance on my part. These days I use it a lot more and so I've been spending a lot of time (and money!) fixing it up!

That's what I'm doing, doing it myself. I just thought I'd ask first if there's some common place where a leak might occur. It takes longer than a couple of weeks to empty, sorry if I was a bit unclear. Some time ago the light came on and then I filled it up. This was weeks, maybe even months...

Evening all, I have a slight problem with my 1990 Disco v8, it keeps loosing brake fluid. It isn't a big leak, because after I've filled up the reservoir it takes weeks for the warning light to come on. I can't see any leaks anywhere. Any ideas?

Do you have an ISO connector on the back of yours? It might be getting in the way, or like others have said, the wires need tucking away. I remember mine used to stick out a bit from one side because the aerial lead was in the way.

The exact same thing happened to me as well! The handle split right in half! And bloody hell are new ones expensive! Do they sell them without the lock barrel anywhere on the interweb?

Are those Disco 1 sketches somewhere on the net, that are in the first video? I think it would be interesting to have a look at them.

That's what I was thinking too. ...And was afraid of. I don't know the model of the unit and don't have any spec sheets or diagrams either. So I need to do a bit of detective work... I'll take a pic when I have a minute. Thanks for the help anyway guys!

It doesn't have any - it's different to a factory fitted one. In the engine bay there's only what looks like an electric motor that pulls on the throttle. Maybe it's dead. Is there anyone else with a similar kind of cruise control?

I think they stop the floor panel resonating, not sure though. I put them on too when I replaced the floor panel on mine a couple of months ago.

Hi, I have a 1990 Discovery 1 and would like to fit a bull/nudge bar to it (possibly even an A-bar). The problem is that it has a front bumper from a facelifted (post 1994) Discovery 1. So the question is how will the bars fit the Disco? Or does the facelifted bumper even make any difference...
