Cruise control

Hi,

I have a 1990 Disco V8 and my cruise control doesn't work. The problem is that it isn't factory fitted. I don't really know that much about cruise controls, so any idea where the problem might be? All I know about the unit itself is that it's made by Momo.

I know it's really hard to help me because it's not factory fitted, but it never hurts to ask, right?

Wouldnt hurt to check all the pipes for leaks... take em off and visually check em for splits etc

It doesn't have any - it's different to a factory fitted one. In the engine bay there's only what looks like an electric motor that pulls on the throttle. Maybe it's dead.
Is there anyone else with a similar kind of cruise control?

Show us a pic..... ifs its motorised then check the motor with a direct 12v feed?

There's other things to check the power supply, ECU, speed sensor, switches are just a few. You will need a manufactures spec sheet and diagram if you intend fault finding.

That's what I was thinking too. ...And was afraid of. I don't know the model of the unit and don't have any spec sheets or diagrams either. So I need to do a bit of detective work...

Give it a Google I say, you always find something by doing this. I would not think that Momo would make many versions of a cruise control.
