    Warm/hot engine starting problems

Did the problem start suddenly? A few days ago mine started having problems when warm. Got to use throttle. HAVE TRIED SEARCHING FORUM BUT HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIND ANY THING. Not saying its not there. I'm just not that good with computers. Thought that if it was lifter pump, it would have...

    TD% Battery drain

Hi. Car has coil conversion (I believe as it is definitely on coils but has a suspension height adjustment button that does nothing). Also intermittently I get an warning tone and ABS, Traction control and I believe, the hill decent lights come on. Turn ignition on and off and the majority of...

    TD% Battery drain

Thanks for the reply. What I don't understand is the battery drain only happens when that clicking can be heard. On times that the clicking is not heard the car fires up the next day like its got a new battery.

    TD% Battery drain

Hi all. Need some help on this one. I have had 3 disco's over last 15 years and lots of battery replacements cos of drainage on them all. Had a similar thing on my 03 TD5 this winter. Bought a new battery but connections were arse about. Removed the main earth to try and extend cable a bit but...

    Green diesel feed pipe change

Well, I was driving down the M4 and noticed that my back windscreen was covered in liquid. I thought to myself, that's not right. Dry day and all. Found diesel running off chassis and further investigation found a pipe worn and p*****g diesel all over the place. Went on web and found this to be...

93 200tdi stalling when slowing to a halt

Just to throw this in the mixing pot, you say the engine is not as smooth on idle. Is the idle speed set correctly?

93 200tdi stalling when slowing to a halt

Could be lift pump, fuel sender or even ecu. Sounds like it's getting fuel when idling. Oil light will come on as your engine cuts out.

    Hydrogen conversion

Hi all. Does anyone know anything about Hydrogen conversion on diesel engines. I understand how it works, would like to know if anyone has had one or had experience of one. DOES IT WORK AND WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS:D

    For those who know

There is a similar thread concerning your CD player that I read the other day. The guy followed the advice given and took his stacker out, opened it up and cleaned the lens. May be all you need to do for that issue. It may help if you tell members what Landy you have for light issue.

93 200tdi stalling when slowing to a halt

Did it start cutting out as you were slowing down. Has been known that the diesel filter can be clogged and as you go down the box and the revs increase, the engine suffers from fuel starvation cutting it out. Just an idea.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Drove it home from work. Took it up the local mountain for a spin and have a picnic accompanied by Mrs H.

    please help

Ideas like this is the reason I come on here. Learnt a lot over the years. Peeps experience and knowledge is invaluable. Oh and of course for help. If you have 2000 landrover owners in a group, chances are they have seen, experienced and overcome the vast majority of problems. Thanks all.

    please help

Consesus seems to point to head gasket. I've had plenty of help with problems on my landies from the peeps on here. If however you think it's the inlet manifold, take it off and get it pressure tested. That's assuming it's water cooled. I genuinely don't know if it is.

    please help

The only other explanation is a cracked block if you are 100% sure it hasn't been in water. If you checked the engine coolant, was it missing a drop. Well 1800cc worth. I suggest HG. That's what I would be checking if it was mine.

    please help

Head gasket is my vote unless the block is cracked. HG is the cheapest option. Once the water is out it will probably run ok but problem will recur if the car is left for any length of time. Problem will get worse too. Do the HG before you cause serious damage to the engine Sorry forgot to...

    please help

Sounds like hydraulic lock. Had something similar on an old peugot I used to have. Head gasket seems to be the prime suspect. maybe a little hole allowing water to seep into cylinder over a few days. Lucky, I snapped the starter motor casting turning it over. To be fair, it was cheap French crap.
