    SRS Airbag fault

I came across this on fbook. Hopefully it works. I wish I had ifwhen I neede it!! It came from a south American post so maybe it wont work in this region. Contrary to popular belief, I've just found out that you CAN reset the dashboard SRS light yourself - no Rover dealer required ! All...

Stuck in low, not the usual fix

Great detective work guys. The rusty one is the donner for this part which I took out before from the avatar. The one I just fixed was well oiled with mtf94. I was very impressed with the internals condition and the obvious coatingof the mtf94. Pity its so hard to get in these parts. P.s I...

Stuck in low, not the usual fix

Yesterday my transfer box stuck in low. I use it regularly as usually towing 2-3t. The last few days I had a feeling it wasnt changing to high in the usual way. I got under and removed the ratio motor, hoping to manually change it. However the spindle rotate quite easily without effect. I...

    P38 manual inflation advice

That's right 3 way tee. I made the inflation stem from a tubeless tyre inflation stem. When you pare away the rubber from it, it's a 6mm brass shank which just fits the push in tee.

    P38 manual inflation advice

I had mine on manual a few times while solving problems in system. I chose to connect rear bags with a tee piece and then similar for the fronts. When done in pairs you get balancing across the axle. This is done away from the valve block which if it has sealing problems maybe the cause of the...

2.5 Diesel hard starting hot or cold

I had similar problems on P38. After testing glowplugs I read that timing chain wear does necessitate adjusting the FIP. I moved the FIP twice. (towards the block) Once a little bit, then a bit more without obvious improvement in starting. Note: many on here commented that moving of the FIP...

    Air Suspension Valve Block

Another test is to unplug the relay which is under the passengers seat. This stops the self levelling so if its down in the morning then the leak is in the rear bags.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I sorted the locked passenger door. A search on here made me suspect the superlock motor. However using rovacom I could hear all the motors operating to no avail. This led me to suspect the door handle. I managed to remove it by opening the rear pass door which gives access to the screw which...

    P38 tow weight.

This LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER P38A COMPLETE TOW BAR ASSEMBLY UNIT WITH ELECTRIC (L1) | eBay is like mine. The crossbar bolts to existing brackets at the end of chassis - behind bumper. The plate at the opposite end of the ball hitch bolts to a welded box section cross beam of the chassis:)

    P38 tow weight.

There is also another bolt on crossbar which fits behind the bumper from which a drop plate bolts to the towbar. Good luck with getting the bumper off. Usually seized bolts which are torx head.

    rovacomlite

+1 to that John, I had a nanocom which was tied to the vin. I now use a rovacomlite and it does the same job with the added benefit of being multi vehicle. It came with my second p38 which was handy:)

I found a sunroof drain pipe had been pinched and blocked on assembly behind the rear pillar trim. This was on a 95 model. worth a check.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I did a bit of chopping. To modify for offroading i fitted a bulkhead behind the rear doors. I cut the body behind that to give a one foot deep tub which will hold the spare wheel and a winch. Next move is to put a rollcage around it and give finish to the tub. No turning back now:D

    aftermarket eas pump

I have previously used a twin piston unit for about 60 from paddock. I used a relay to operate from the old eas plug. The comp. will sit behind the eas box and i got a bolt into a prethreaded hole in the wing top.

Got a quote from the Garage (EAS)

If you sort out the bags you can use this method to inflate them. http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f10/p38-compressor-prepare-failure-159044.html Then sort out compressor later. You don't need to do the reset to drive it once inflated.
