    Got that sinking feeling.....

Thanks everyone for the constructive replies. I posted in here, because I couldn't make the O/S/R Airspring reproduce any bubbles after the one and only time it did it........so I started to doubt it was that at fault, I have read about them failing, but there are other components I may or may...

    Got that sinking feeling.....

Hi all, My 2003 Disco has an issue......but it's sporadic. The rear end will drop with no pattern or reason, it did it whilst driving last week too! It will be fine for days, then all of a sudden, it will drop its rear down, this can be when it's just left over night, or when out...

    Wheel bearing or IRD?

It's noisy all the time, but you can change the noise depending on going round a corner or not.

    Wheel bearing or IRD?

Hi, There are noises on the car. Sounds like wheel bearings, but unsure if they are wheel bearings. How can I tell if it's IRD or not, what sort of noises to they make when they fail? One point to mention, when you go round corners, the noise lessens one way. (to the left). Cheers all!

    Hippo tyres

Hi all, Happy New Year to everyone!! Was just wondering if people have any ideas on A, what tyres to go for, (Kind of want some "all weather" type ones), B, if anyone has changed the profile from standard to raise the overall gearing and what size they went for?? It has 17" standard wheels...

    2003 Discovery Td5, Poor starting!?

According to wiring diagram on Autodata, No. But in reality, I have no idea. I have been Google-tastic this evening, looks like the old "oil in the loom/ecu" is still a common issue. Got a few things to check now. Interestingly, the "kit" for the Crank sensor that Land Rover sent me...

    2003 Discovery Td5, Poor starting!?

Looking at the wiring diagram, the wires to the crank sensor ARE shielded. Looks like that may be where the problem is. As per Autodata diagram, the shielding wires come from the ECU, Connector plug A, pin 16. This then looks like it goes into 2 wires, surrounding the CPS wires. Loom...

    2003 Discovery Td5, Poor starting!?

Oh yes. No throttle. There is a new Crankshaft SYNCHRONISATION sensor fitted, this goes into the bell-housing on the gearbox. Is there another Crank sensor?

    2003 Discovery Td5, Poor starting!?

Hi everyone! I was reading on Autodata last night the test procedures for fuel pump and relay and according to that, the fuel pump should run and continue to run for 3 minutes with just the ignition switched on!! It don't. Plus I rechecked the fault memory, it now says: "Noisy crank...

    2003 Discovery Td5, Poor starting!?

No probs. I will check the activation of the fuel pump tomorrow whilst checking the fault memory again.

    2003 Discovery Td5, Poor starting!?

VERY similar, if not the same. I'm thinking along a fueling kind of problem!?!?

    2003 Discovery Td5, Poor starting!?

No, no wierd fuel pump noises. It's intermittant whether it fires, stalls then cranks for ages, OR, it just cranks for ages, then eventually fire. I presume these have a fuel "lift" pump in the tank?

    2003 Discovery Td5, Poor starting!?

Hi all! Are there any common issues that relate to this fault..... Starts up fine initially from cold, short drive, then stop, then re-start but cranks and cranks but reluctant to fire!? I have interorgated the fault memory with my Snap-On SOLUS Pro machine, which showed a fault with the...

    Newbie Help please??!!

OK. Does that mean, mark 2 lines. 1 on the prop, 1 on the VC housing. Drive it and check if they move out of line??? If they are then OK, Or if they are it's fubar'd??

    Newbie Help please??!!

Hi all!! I have a 2003 Freelander,1.8 petrol. Within the last couple of days, it has developed a juddering clutch pedal,(pushing it down AND releasing it), "pull away" judder and a horrible whining noise mainly in 1st and 2nd gear, (almost the same noise from the straight-cut reverse...
