My 99 defender is a real bitch to drive in 1st and 2nd with small amount of pedal, is even worse in low range, mechanically its tight, could it be that accelerator pedal? Any info please?

Removed egr valve this morning now cant go over 50 mph, was fine for the first mile, revs fine but dead when driving, removed plugs at air filter also, fitted blank over vacuum pipe any other suggestions, Graham

My friend has changed transfer boxes. Now that he has it all back together it will not select low, neutral and high are ok but it jumps out of high when driving. Not that this makes much difference I feel, but its a V8 with auto box. Any ideas? Thanks. G.

Hi peeps, I want to put in a split charge kit into my 110 Td5 so that when I run my inverter its not taking power from the current battery. What I would like to know, is it ok to site the battery next to the existing one? Thanks Graham.

Can anyone tell me what the problem is? The passenger door on my 07 D3 will not open with the button on the key, or with the button on the dash. I removed the lock cover on the door handle and tried to open manually but no luck. Will not open even if I pull the handle on the door either.:confused:

Eventually I have my winch back in full working order, new ujs and new carrier bearings. All running nice and smooth. What I would like to know is that the winch free spools easily and can be driven in forward and reverse but I dont know if it is safe or advisable to use it in the reverse mode...

Can any one tell me the part no for the seal at the pto winch drive outlet from the gearbox? I have 99 Td5, R380 box.:p I measured [to shaft, 19mm and internal dia of seal housing is 32mm, is this a get any where seal or LR part only? Thanks.

Just been reading comments about the removal of the egr, had a look at the td5 kit on ebay, £46 plus £18 for postage to Ireland. I have plenty of steel and drill and grinder, I reckon I can make the kit myself in an hour or so. Question is, what is the diameter or the pipe on the square flange...
