Sorted! Turns out there was a crack in the dash circuit board creating a short. The mechanic resoldered all the connections, solving the problem :)

@Nodge68 It's a 2001 TD4. No the hazard telltale lights don't flash with the indicators. No the lights on light doesn't work. (Though the dash panel illumination comes on) I will check the main beam warning... I will check electric windows too... Sorry for ignorance but what is the Ipack? Is...

My entire dashboard died (instruments, all lights except SRS) whilst driving down the motorway. The handbrake light came on, I toggled the lever to check it was released, and the entire panel flickered off then on again. Then 10 mins later went out completely. No speedo, no indicators, though...

I want to remove passenger carpet in a Freelander 1. Do I need to remove the front console (as well as seats & centre console) to get it out? Just wondering if this is an epic job...!

Hmmm... I don't get similes. They're like rocket science to me :) Reason I ask is coz instructions for the Discovery rails involved drilling a hole in the roof. I'm not adverse to doing that, but I want to make sure I've got the complete fitting kit from whatever fleabay seller I buy the rails...

You're right, I forgot to mention it's 1.8. I appreciate your help, tho' I don't think you got why I want to know total capacity. Draining a random amount off then adding the same in coolant won't result in a 50% mix. Cheers.

Great! Thanks for that That won't work. I need to drain off half the total and add the same in antifreeze concentrate to get a 50% mix. As the post says, at the moment it's pure water. But thanks for the estimate!

I need to antifreeze after a split hose repair, now fine but charged only with water. I'd like to avoid draining the entire system, just partially drain and top up with concentrate, but need to know how much to add ... What's the capacity of the system?

No, remote locks all doors including the driver's. Horn doesn't sound indicating an unlocked door. I've tried resetting the immobiliser with the 5-quick-button press on remote too. Maybe I need to get the computer reset? There's an issue with the courtesy lights too: The front interior...
