I had the same problem recently: all three light wore permanently on. Took brake switch apart and cleaned inside, use small nail polisher to polish contact pins, you will see some burned out a bit. Working like a new, but just to make sure I've got new replacement in few days time. There are two...

    TD4 and idle problems

chromiumuk: Double? Come on...:D you wanna blow all me gaskets?:D:D:D I'm testing for last 3 days and definitely it was Synergy2. My "slowlander" is driving like a tank thanks to Pierburg MAF :p but at least is "driving". Now all those small 1.1 or 1.4s are "big macho" cos they can be...

    TD4 and idle problems

Thanks guys chromiumuk: Switching off Synergy2 only did not cured the problem, I had to completely disconnect whole box from my car in order to work it properly. That why I did assumed Synergy2 being at fault. I will test the injectors at some point, for now I have to sent the box to Roverron...

    TD4 and idle problems

Howardo: I'm running on X-tra diesel for last month to keep injectors clean but... TD4 has chain and i think if this was off timing would be strait from a point of start as well as starting issue itself. but to make sure will check K&N filter (I don't think it done more that 8000 miles) anyway...

    TD4 and idle problems

Hi there, A two weeks ago i did notice that my idle is a bit shaky, but nothing happened until 3 days ago when my Freelander TD4 '03 suddenly start chocking and stall in slow traffic. Changed fuel filter and fuel pump, as filter wasn't changed for last 6 years I think. I'm thinking of replacing...

    TD4 and self-priming??

New Update: After long fight with whole assembly what I found? New pump is locked inside and not running. That's why whole thing was hot. From my experience even if running dry, temp will rise after few minutes not seconds, so something in it was bothering me along. Hehe.. I've got nice...

Hehehe, 10BHP?? So how much will I got with mine Synergy 2 @ option 10 + K&N Sport Filter + EGR Blank mod + cleaned Inlet manifold + X-tra Diesel additive?? :cool:Dead fuel filter and fuel pump... I think.. Still have to primed "self-primed" TD4... Life is brutal sometimes...

    TD4 and self-priming??

booboodag: as I've said before: pump is getting hot, it means you have electric supply OK, but you do not pull anything as there is air lock. I've looked into this connector and trust me there is no way to swap polarity nor to fit improperly, connectors have locks on them. I'm going to find any...

    TD4 and self-priming??

Possible, but don't forget my pump is empty, so is difficult to pull diesel, as Vic suggested: air lock.I know that I can't run empty as pump is taking diesel as lubrication and heat displacement. I have to find a way to suck diesel behind the pump or even filter, that's why I'm wondering if...

    TD4 and self-priming??

Hi Vic sedimenter: closed, all pipework checked. I know from my experience (central heating/ventilation) that an air lock can be a pain. Tomorrow i will search for diesel primer pump or something what can sucks diesel. I had an idea about using it at the front end via connection to the low...

    TD4 and self-priming??

Just to pop a question: Just changed wheel arch fuel pump and filter, emptied sedimenter, put them back and start priming procedure: accelerator to the floor and crank 10 sec burst, 5 sec break. Nothing. checked pump, HOT as F***. No leaks, nothing. Any ideas? Will I burn this pump eventually if...

    judder at rear

When I had that funny judder on the rear wheel (usually opposite side to the full lock and car full of people), guess what it was: failed VCU giving too much torque on the read wheels and start slipping that wheel, TC (if you have one) will kick in. After replacing it, everything went back to...
