    Brake issues. Interchangable disks?

Will the disk swap straight over or do I need to change the stub axle too? I'll see if I can find it in the raw pdf, I didn't think of that. Cheers :) I wish I'd just bought all new parts now. So much for money/time saving!

    Brake issues. Interchangable disks?

Cheers for the replies guys, I wasn't going to run this thing permanently I just REALLY needed it today so I thought as a temporary fix I could stick everything on there. Teflon - the caliper is the original caliper, I made sure I retained that so that I could swap back to my vented disk. Only...

    Brake issues. Interchangable disks?

I got hold of the whole assembly from the swivel housing to the hub today to replace one side (my swivel housing was shot and decided it'd be easier to replace the whole lot. How wrong was I!) Trouble is, it's off an older model without ABS. My RR has ABS. Is there any difference between the...

    Track rods...?

Just called mm4x4 and they don't seem to have a clue. They told me to just order what's on the vehicle, and wouldn't give advice on what part i actually needed and what the differences are, cause i have a different steering box. Is there any difference between the disco and rangey track...

    Track rods...?

Just tried to adjust my tracking but... My track rod ends are shot, track rod's bent and everything's so siezed I couldn't adjust it if my life depended on it. So it's gonna be a million times easier to replace it. Firstly - What am I actually looking for when buying online? I tried paddocks...

    Leaky PS Box :-(

I went out mark's (crossways 4x4) yesterday and pulled a steering box off a disco (the newer type with track rod ends rather than ball joint drop arm) so I'm just keeping that handy for when mine bites the dust. Not a hard job at all, wasn't expecting that :)

    Leaky PS Box :-(

ahh i see lol ;) I'm gonna give the brake fluid a go out of interest but if it doesn't work I'll give you a shout. Seems though, if I'm gonna take it off and reseal it, I may as well reseal everything as it's weeping out by the steering column input and on top in a couple' places. Depends on how...

    Leaky PS Box :-(

I've looked for a bottom seal kit but there only seems to be one kit on Paddocks - STC2847R Seal repair kit for power steering box If the drop arm is as much of a PITA to get off as people make it out to be, then aren't I either better off with a recon box or at least this: QFW000020 Drop arm...

    Leaky PS Box :-(

Sorry to dig up a slightly old thread, but better than starting a new one with the same problem I guess :p Mine started as hardly even a weep, then all of a sudden yesterday I noticed a patch on the floor under the very front of the landy, so I had a look underneath - PAS fluid all over the...

8 Spokes / Steel wheels 'reverse' mounting?

I've never had a decent look on a landy steel rim but the wheels on the bug (which look the same as the 8 spokes available to landy's) are flat where the wheel bolts/studs go through. It's basically just a dead flat plate with 4 lug holes and one centre hub hole in it, same from both sides. I'm...

8 Spokes / Steel wheels 'reverse' mounting?

I've read in a couple of places now of people mounting steel wheels with flat mounting faces the 'wrong' way round (so you have a massive offset and dish facing outwards). I've often wondered if this was possible as I was going to give it a try on my vw bug (8 spoke wellers) but never got round...

    Dorset this weekend?

Anybody in Dorset fancy a play this weekend? Been out a fair few times now but still not farmiliar with directions to many lanes so it'd help if someone who knows some lanes was coming. Might try to get myself an OS map in the week and see if I can find some of the lanes I did on Saturday, out...

    Light Guard Fixings

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a set of RRC rear light guard fixings? I only really need the plastic cylindrical bits as these snapped off. Allen head bolts and captive nut's they screw into are still there. I could bodge them back on but I'd rather stick a new set on for the sake of a...

    Swivel Bearings - which ones?!

I took it apart yesterday and found that my upper bearing looks like this: Will there be a taper bearing in there as well or is that it? Going to be doing the job on Wednesday probably so I need all the right bits before I start it. Cheers for the help :)

    Swivel Bearings - which ones?!

Going to have to have to renew some swivel components asap but I'm confused about what bearings to buy. Been to four local motor factors today, all say they don't sell bearings. (And quoted me £78 for a rear wheel bearing kit!!) On ebay, and in guides I've read about changing the bearings...

Coolant hose air lock? Tried search!

Not sure if it gets hotter than usual, the temp sender in the block is mazda and doesn't read right on the RR gauge. Ordered a RR one though so I'll hopefully know what's going on soon temp wise. Once it's pressurized it doesn't collapse like that but I can't tell if water's flowing or not. At...

Coolant hose air lock? Tried search!

Bit of a weird one, the top hose feels like it does have water in it, or at least some. When the hose is squeezed, the reaction of the water in the expansion tank is delayed, as if there is water in the hose (when there's air it's usually pretty instant and direct with the amount of pressure?)...
