Thank you for the information. You were bang on the marker. The clutch has now been bled and it now works correctly. Still think its the master cylinder, so I await in a couple of days time for the pedal to go to the floor, and I will then replace the cylinder. Fingers crossed it doesent though...

Thanks for the quick response. The clutch master cylinder is a sealed unit and the haynes manual says use the brake reserviour.

Battery light came on at exactly the same time the power steering failed. Could this be because of the alternator belt? Does it drive both the alternator and the power pump. Otherwise any other ideas would be gratefully recieved.

Hi I am new to this site so would like to introduce myself and also I have a problem. Last night Battery Light came on and Power steering would not work, on my TD4 Freelander. Any Ideas please? Does the belt running the alternator run the power pump as well? Could it be the belt?
