    I agree, but when i bought the car one of the fronts was leaking so before i collected the car the previous owner got a pair of fronts put on but he would not do the rears, so it was kind of a time bomb for the rears, they lasted a year though

    P38 2.5DSE Fuel consumption

    i average around 20mpg around town and at best 31mpg on a run if i spend alot of time in traffic it gets as low as 16mpg how does this compare to the 4.0 and 4.6 petrol and any LPG comparisons would be good

    Really? I have been building race engine for years now and although I have not built a Rover V8 I have never heard of anything like this, the tangs hold the bearings in place and they are clamped in place once torqued up?

    don't forget to plastigage all the bearings to make sure they are all within tollerance, check the ring gap clearence's and bore clearence's to make sure they are all up to scratch

    well hes been and it runs it was an emobilizer lock out all though it said nothing on the screen?? he wiped it and it runs perfect now

    Cheers for the reply mate One thing though if its something to do with the alarm, the only way i thought the alarm can stop the car running is via the stop solenoid on the pump and thats fine and power is getting to it fine please correct me if im wrong cheers Ricky
