Whenever there's a big downpour, the V8 110 won't start, I'm getting all ignition lights and she's turning over fine, but I'm not getting any spark. I've WD40'd the HT leads, the connection to the coil and greased the wires of the amp and dizzy... and other suggestions? :confused:

Hi all, and Merry Christmas, hohoho. I'm in a spot of bother and don't know what to do next. I'm out in Mexico, the v8 3.5 Defender has been sat here un used for a while. Last run 9 months previous and was fine. I started her up this time and would start ok with plenty of choke, but...

The choke's got a bit sticky and now releasing the choke cable doesn't return the choke. I've cleaned the choke cable/spring mechanism from gunk, and it's ok, but I think the choke linkage inside the carb is gunged up. Is this an easy job or will I have to dismantle the carb?

My dizzy needs replacing, it's there and working by god's will alone. I'm out in Mexico, so would be looking at sourcing a non-lucas dizzy. I've currently got a 35DLM8. What are my options re other makes. Will any V8 distributor fit? Is it just a case of removing the lower gear/pump mechanism...

I have twin Kenlowes fitted to my 92 V8 110. They are fused by 2 seperate 30 amp fuses. Every so ofter, the fuses will melt and fail. Now I assume that the Kenlowes are on their way out and drawing too much current which in turn is melting the fuses. Am I right in thinking this? If...
