Range a rover P38 Gearbox power solenoid fault

Hi I have now tested voltage at fuse 3 & 6. without key in ignition Fuse 3 = 12.4v, ignition on 11v, engine running 11v without key in ignition Fuse 6 = 0v, ignition on 11v, engine running 11v. Does this show anything strange.

Range a rover P38 Gearbox power solenoid fault

Hi it’s a brand new alternator. There is a wire on the back which feeds the rev counter. The fact the rev and Speedo fluctuate indicates it’s not an issue with the rev counter feed. Voltage whist running is 14.4 v

    v8 engine change question

Hi. I have recently changed the engine in my 4.0 p38 "Gems type" to the one you have described with the aluminium sump with no problems. The sump will fit fine. I did have to change the cam gear up front and use the old crankshaft sensor but apart from this no other issues. Good luck!:D

    Heater Core O Rings

As both Fanatic and ZZR1200 have mentioned it is possible without removing the dash. I have done mine and one further tip is that you can cut the remove the air duct which feeds the back of the car, they are pretty useless anyway and once removed the job is so much easier. Once removed you can...

    SRS Airbag fault!!!!

I have recently changed the blend motors on my 1997 P38 4.0 (what a horrible job!!! and the hot air distribution is still problematic working:screaming_bug_eye_f sometimes and not others. I guess the second hand blend motors I fitted are also suspect!). However I now have a fault code showing...

will later p38 engine work in old one?

I have recently changed my 4.0 engine from a 1997 one to a brand new 4.0 in my P38. There are slight changes: The sump is different, the new one is aluminium but fits and is perfecly ok to use. The Camshaft sproket is different so you need to use your old one, ideally a new one from the older...
