Yes I was and No I'm not, he should have made it clearer - for example.... "have you looked at the crock of **** thread in the general section? something in there may help you out."

While it's in pieces, what else should I do?

Thi biggest issue with a landrover other than rust/rot/corrosion, is wiring. For the price of a night of passion with a top bit of totty, you can buy a complete loom. Thats what I'd do.

If you feel that strongly about it, why not ask for it to be moved instead of bitching about people helping others out - especially on topic where lives could be at risk.

Thats what he said was going to happen - contact the dealer and the mot station and "put his case across" on why he should get his money back.

Quite so BUT, after such a short time, the amount of faults and rot in this vehicle should have been picked up on the test.

The trouble is, he's had it a few weeks, he put his car in with cash and has already bought a new set of tyres - to replace the original ones that should have also failed an MOT if the spare is anything to go by.

    Please help landy broken

The poor unfortunate owner of this disco came over last night to show me the job - nice guy, not a nice car. The car was bought from a car lot and MOT'd in April. This rot all round both rear body mounts, boot floor (within 8" of the seat belt mounts), sills and on the chassis by the rear...

    Check out my rust!!!!

I've just seen a whole lot worse on another forum members car - but don't be too smug until you've taken the sill covers off.

    Bull bar

Again, fair points made for both sides (ok 1 is extreme but hey!). Still undecided, maybe go on some more trips and see how things go for now. Mike

    Bull bar

I thought I'd get good and interesting replies. I do see most of the points made being right in their own way but the idea behind having a strop fastened to the front and rear when you go green laning to me is just common sence because you never know what you might meet on the way. The reason I...

    Bull bar

I realise this will be a touchy subject for some but here goes..... I've got a '96 disco that looks like it's had a bull bar on at some point and I'm thinking of putting an original looking one back on with recovery points and it'll be a good spot to wrap the strops to when I go green...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Finished bolting the middle rear seat belt mounts in and painted the new boot floor ready for everything going back into my disco, long job but it's almost done ready for the end of May and a trip to Holland. Mike

    Tow bars

Hiya guys, I'm doing a little bit of refurbing on my disco and was rather worried to the amount of rot in the main frame of the tow bar. I would have taken pics of it but I need to get it repaired for the weekend. The plate in question looks like a U section and it's where the hitch fits to and...

    Landy Security-Another idea

I saw a rather intersting idea on a caravan the other week that winds douwn like a jack leg but it's a hoofing great spike that'll dig in when you drive off, may not be that great for morrisons carpark but then again it might deter the local scally if they see a dirty great pick sticking out...
