Thanks guys that's really helpfull. I'd like to keep the low range gears the same, are the low range gears the disco box the same as a 90's? If so would it be better to do a straight swap for a disco box. I assume this has to be off a 200tdi disco, or would one from a 300tdi fit?

thanks for that, as I'm going to have my own box re-geared I'd like to get it right. The main aim is to reduce the revs, not sure if 235/85 on their own will do this enough.

Hi Guys I have a 200tdi 90, I'm thinking of having the gears in my transfer box changed to Disco gears to lower the revs. This is ok for a 200 tdi on 235/75/16 tyres but I was wondering how it would be if I were to swap tyres to 235/85/16? Will the gearing be too high or will the engine pull...

Hi all, Got a problem on my 90, the wipers work ok but when they reach either end of the arc they overshoot the screen. I've just bought some Silbade silicone blades and I don't want to knacker them too soon. Is there an adjustment somewhere? Any help would be areciated. Thanks Tigger :confused:

Just been on guardian4x4's website. The 90 removeable towbar looks pretty meaty. There's no picture so he e-mailed me one. It's a contender for sure.

Hi, I'm looking at buying a detatchable towbar for my 90 as taking the old one off everytime I go off roading is getting tedious! I was looking at the one "Extreme 4x4" do, it seems to be chuffin expensive at £213 for a lump of metal. Has anyone used this one or seen it for sale anywhere else...

The TD exhaust works well on mine. A proper 200tdi exhaust is a bit larger bore though. I don't thrash it too much and I don't do too much towing so It works for me.

Hi, Ive got a similar setup. 200tdi from a defender in a 85 90. I've used an exhaust that came with the engine, It's from a TD. I've had to make one bracket up for the rear of the back box but thats it. What's the noise level like on youre as you have removed the center box? Tigger
