I have seen somewhere that some hot water allow to dry followed by some wd40 should make it a little happier

Hi every one. My mother has just got herself a p38. Why I don't know haha. She has just traveled on the motorway and said that when she give it a bit to go up hill the temp gauge went up. It didn't boil but just want to make sure it's nothing to worry about to much.
