Cleaned splines etc and battere the arm as far as i coud with a socket. Its on the spline 85% and ball joint finally happy with it. yup going back out to take off and clean and check everything again. Ball joint has the washer i just put it back in to show the gap. cheers all. Will just keep footering at it until i get it perfect.

Going to take it back off and clean all the splines and see if that helps.

I will take a couple of photos later on to show what i mean, nut is on just flush with the bottom of the steering shaft. The split pin is 2 cm above the castle nut so is holding nothing?? Just looks wrong.........

put the new one on the same position the old one came off. Looks exactly the same as the old one? But like i say, i dont think i should need to hammer the new one on as its a tapered spline?

Ok, nightmare to get old one off, bang\heat\10 ton puller\ combinations of all those, finally cut a slot in it and chiseled it off yeahhhhhh. Ordered part No. qfw000020, it dosent go up far enough on the splines?!!? Old one sat about 2cm from the box, this one is about 5cm away from the box...

got a Master cylinder STC100411 will this fit my 1997 300Tdi? Seems to be lots on fleabay all with different part numbers??? :P

Ok, yesterday the clutch pedal wont return fully back to its normal height. Thinking its probably the pivot trying to make a hole in the release arm?? Usable but getting worse and have to put my toe under the pedal to get it back from the bite point! Anyone got any ideas? Hoping its more the...

I work for the MoD and deffo not galv chassis. The only thing they do before selling to withams is respray them and put some cheker plate on them.....thats it. They buy them off the MoD for buttons and sell them for silly prices. Should be alot more landys comin up for sale as the Army are going...

Lol aye i noticed that about standard jacks!! Fully up they just about touch the axle!! Useless. Meant to ask that actually lol, whats the best jack for the job? I did struggle abit eith me 2 bottle jacks doin the exhaust trying to get me gut in and out from underneath :) cheers steve k

Nah cudnt be bothered phonin to haggle with them, and Flux came in well under Lancaster for fully comp and all the trimins. :) Yours must be a 90?? A 110 can do better damage :) SK
