I was told by a well-known company selling ex-MOD Defenders that they were fitted with factory galvanised chassis.

Is this correct or not?

Thanks for any info.

The proper XD ones have a completely different rear cross member, it in the pieces and is open at the bottom not like the standard ones that are open facing the wheel. They then have a cover that fits over it to make it look one piece. The differences are obvious from underneath

I work for the MoD and deffo not galv chassis. The only thing they do before selling to withams is respray them and put some cheker plate on them.....thats it. They buy them off the MoD for buttons and sell them for silly prices. Should be alot more landys comin up for sale as the Army are going to be using wimiks/Wolf and Pinz now instead of standard landys.

Mine must have missed the spraying and chequer plate stage lol :-D

I heard that the XD 90's were going to be re-chassied as 110's and discontinue the use of 90's. Is that true?

If so I wonder of the 90 XD chassis will come up for sale? If so they will be a good buy I imagine!
