    Tubular manifold for 2.25 petrol?

Well done that man. I had only glanced at the picture and it didn't occur to me that the pipes were not all of equal length. For those who don't know, the ideal is that each pipe is equal in distance to the others. And yes, they are rather long. Though, both of those problems could be...

    Tubular manifold for 2.25 petrol?

I have found A. Graham Bell's book on tuning 4 stroke exhausts very informative if not a little baffling at times. There's a lot of mathematics involved... He's also done a 2 stroke exhaust book which I also have but am yet to read. Quite right about having to be careful about these things.

Cheers, 6 hours to go and am watching it.... watch it skyrocket to some stupid price now....

    Tubular manifold for 2.25 petrol?

Now that's somethng I hadn't thought of. It woould need to be of a similar size engine capacity of course. Or, as you say, similar bore size (dimensions). Perhaps one of the old Rover 4 cylinder ones may work? Cheers. Kevan

    Tubular manifold for 2.25 petrol?

Cheers mate. Worth bearing in mind because I have always thought it is better to have a bigger bore, within reason of course, to allow better engine breathing. This is a different matter entirely with a two stroke enigne but that is irrelevant here :) Of course, my other option could be to...

    Tubular manifold for 2.25 petrol?

Crikey that money they want at Automotive comp is a bit silly. No, hang on, it's very silly. I want to keep the 2.25 engine but have considered things like a Tdi or a V8. However, my thinking is that the 2.25 is a good strong engine, it's underpowered on today's 'fast' roads (that's...

    Tubular manifold for 2.25 petrol?

Ok, cheers, will do. I'm pretty much on the West Mid's Staffordshire border around a mile from junction 11 of the M6.

    Tubular manifold for 2.25 petrol?

Hi everybody. Can anybody tell me if it is still possible to purchase a tubular exhaust manifold in stainless steel for a series 2a 2.25 petrol engine please? I need to replace the exhaust and thought I may as well go the whole 9 yds sort of thing and fit a tubular manifold. You never know...

How do I dismantle a Disco' seat please?

Ok, so what used to be Bushbury Land Rover are now Stratstone. Waste of time that was. As soon as I said I needed some advice the guy said "don't buy a Land Rover." Great face for the business then! No really useful information either and the guy I saw started walking off as he was still...

How do I dismantle a Disco' seat please?

Here's a picture of the seat showing the type of fixed headrest that I am trying to uncover. I'm going to try popping into Bushbury Land Rover's service centre later this morning to see if they can offer any advice too. Thank you. Kevan ps. this is not my actual seat. I've...

How do I dismantle a Disco' seat please?

That would be correct from what I can see. The only trouble is that the bolts are not bolts :( They are some sort of fastener but I cannot see how they come undone. There are no flats so a socket will not go on them. I suspect they are some form of self locking washer. The sort that is...

How do I dismantle a Disco' seat please?

Hi everybody. Could somebody offer some advice please? I'm about 3/4 of the way through dismantling a driver seat from a Disco 1. I've hit a snag in the fact that I can't find out how to remove the upper head restraint pieces in order to remove the rest of the seat material. Is there a...

Wheel spacers? Are they worth it?

Ah, now you have me stumped here... I'm honestly not sure. How would I go about finding about? I'm assuming I'd need to measure the depth of the 'dish' (for want of a better word) in the wheel itself. The Landy is out of bounds for a week or so now anyway :( I've pulled a bloody muscle...

Wheel spacers? Are they worth it?

Hi Davec :) My apologies I should have run a search first. One thing I was concerned about was whether spacers would place too much strain on axle parts... somewhere along the line. The stops are, as far as I am aware (but I should measure them properly) ok. It is the same on both sides...

Wheel spacers? Are they worth it?

I'd like to improve the rather poor turning circle on my Series 2a. Will a set of wheel spacers make much of a difference? Or should I not bother? At the moment it's bloody awful especially when I end up going over a kerb because I've misjudged it yet again... :(

    Engine oil drain plug sizes?

This one is copper. Not just flat copper of course, it's like a raised copper section intended to crush down and seal against the two pieces of steel (sump plug and sump itself). I don't think I've ever seen a rubber sump plug washer. I think I recall seeing a fibre one once but it's a long...

    Engine oil drain plug sizes?

Ah, no need for an apology, I didn't take offence :) I agree with you that it would be 'easier' to get a local garage to do the oil changes. In fact, I am on good terms with a very good little independent place (Fast Fit Freddy's, Hawks Green Cannock if anybody is nearby) who I get to do the...

    Engine oil drain plug sizes?

It's not that I'm lazy but that I happen to have arthritis. I can get down there but I may not get back up :) Measuring is no good as there is only a picture in a catalogue to go by at the parts shop :( I may end up taking it out, draining the oil - obviously - then taking the lot to the shop...

    Engine oil drain plug sizes?

Hi all :) Can anybody tell me if the engine drain plug used on standard fitment Land Rover engines is the same size for all vehicles? I have asked this on another forum but only got told that as the drain plug is not a service item why should I want to renew it... Well, I want to renew it...
