    gearbox cost + other questions.

    How much would it cost to have a gearbox replaced on a 99 freelander 1.8? I have seen units on ebay for around £150 but would like to know the rough labour time. Locking wheen nuts - 2 have been removed from the car but the rear 2 are in a bit of a state where someone has tried to hack them...

    1800 XE-I 3rd gear crunch

    Good evening, When i change up ino 3rd gear it crunches. If i am at low speed and low revs and i gently ease the change is ok but with normal speed and the normal way of changing gear (if there is a normal way?) it crunches. Very occasional it happens in 4h too. Can anyone help me please?

    gearbox-oil change?

    Think i have a problem with the gearbox. Whilst out and about yesterday i really had to force the gear stick into the gear positions. Is it time for a new gear box? clutch? or should i just change the gear box oil.? Can anyone explain how to change the gearbox oil.Its a 1.8.

    'Sloppy' Gear Box

    I dont have a problem selecting gears but its like 'stirring a bowl of porridge' with the gear stick. Is there a clip or somthing that will tighten up the gear change and make it less sloppy?

    General costs of parts for a freelander

    Ok at some point parts are going to need to be Replaced. The HG and timing belt have been done so (hopefully) shouldn't need doing for a long time. Im sure the exhaust will soon as it sounds like there is a little hole somewhere. What i would like to know is are the parts cheap for freelanders...
