    PAS pump

I think my 200tdi PAS pump is on its way out. Whenever I turn the wheel it makes a horrendous groaning noise, the steering has also got heavy and just feels like it can't do the job and the noise gets worse at higher revs. The pulley wheel on the front of the pump also seems to have moved...

    Funny steering on my 200...

Hi all, my steering has recently been acting a bit strange on my 200. It's starting groaning a bit at low speed, might be at high speed too but I can't listen for that! It doesn't really seem any heavier that normal though and it has the correct level of PSF too. A recon'd steering box was...

    cd player

Just go to halfords or some car audio shop, they all use the same single DIN cage. When you go, take your old head unit with you because depending on brand the connectors at the rear of the unit vary. Hope this helps!

    Disco drinking fuel...

Yeah I may try that, I think it's dipped since the bio went in, so no real saving really as it uses more fuel! And yeah it's properly serviced.

    Disco drinking fuel...

Would it really make that much of a difference? As I've been running on almost 100% bio.

    Disco drinking fuel...

My 200 disco has recently just started using more fuel than normal, about 20-25mpg to be precise. Its on offroad tyres but it used to do about 30 mpg with them on. Nothing major has happened since it got bad and I'm sure there's no leaks. It drives like normal but it just uses more fuel. Anyone...

    Off-Roading

Would you not consider a D1 at all? My 200tdi was had for £900 with very minimal rust and sound running gear, it's comfy and good offroad.

    Really comfy seats...

What different seats have people fitted in their D1s then? I'm fancying some heated leather rangie ones, but are there any commonly used seats that are better? What different comfy seats have people here fitted and how successful has that been? Cheers!

    Fancy suspenion kit...

What do you lot reckon to this x eng kit then? Seems like pretty good stuff and, I'm liking the ball joint radius arms! Any thoughts? http://www.x-eng.co.uk/X-Flex.asp

Fitting a boost gauge. Simple? Nope. Fail!

Right, if you look down at the turbo standing on the nearside of your disco, its the pipe that runs from what looks like a piston on the side of the turbo going to the rubber hose on the front of it. It's quite short and its the only thin black pipe there.
  16. jmattley

    what other parts fit discos?

Door handles are generic rover parts bin ****e and the headlights are LDV sherpa. Which are also ****e as they have the worst pattern ever, even with decent bulbs!

    More power

Whichever really, lets go for silly amounts of money power.
  18. jmattley

    More power

So what's the maximum amount of power one could hope to get a out a 200 then? I mean if you were willing to spend on a bigger VNT type turbo, front intercooler, better exhaust manifolds etc etc. What's the most anyone here has got out of one?

    200 TDi Sluggish

If you take the hose off the front of the turbo you can see the turbine. You should be able to spin it freely with your finger or something longer, there should also be no wobble in the it. With the engine off obviously!!

Started to fit the Southdown snorkel ..

One more thing, what size bolts did you use to fix it to the A pillar? M8s?
