    CCU compatibility?

I know! If only it was codable with some generic OBDII software! Never mind, that's how the dealers make their cash!

    CCU compatibility?

I have a landie indie near enough so I might be able to do something. Just a shame it can't be done easily without moving the car. I'd happily buy software to sort it out! Hopefully It'll be sorted soon though.

    CCU compatibility?

Hmmmm, this is what I'm interested in. If I can go this route I will. Ideally needs to run well enough to get to the garage for new brakes then for MOT. After that I can mess about with coding. I just don't fancy towing a car with rubbish brakes to get coding done...... Even if it costs a...

    CCU compatibility?

So if coding is required either way then I might aswell just get a new CCU and bite the bullet! So back to original question - are CCUs interchangable between models and model years? What are the limitations?

    CCU compatibility?

And if I was to change the ECU for a compatible one no coding would be required? I'd happily use a box of matches but then I'd do something silly like buy a disco which would need a bigger can of petrol when it goes wrong...

    CCU compatibility?

Does anyone know or know where I can find out which CCUs are compatible with my car? The car is a 1998 Freelander 1.8 XEi. I can get more details if they will help. Any ideas?

Very Strabge Central Locking / Immobiliser Issue

Having a very similar issue. It's done it a few times before but always worked. Now I'm thinking I need to replace some bits! I'm guessing CCU (this the box located above the speedo etc with three wires coming out?) and key fobs..... Any advance on that? Also if this stuff is replaced then...

    Discs and pads pre 2000

I have no problem buying quality components. I said low cost meaning not overpriced and I'm not sure how much benefit you get going for 'mintex' etc with a solid disc! I don't skimp on safety. My other car has massively uprated discs and pads (slotted carbon rotors) but I guess I meant I...

    Discs and pads pre 2000

Alright folks, looking to replace the discs and pads on my gaylander. They are the solid discs from a pre 2000 model. The stopping power (or lack thereof) is an issue so looking for a low cost recommendation that might improve it? Is there any brands that perform better than others or is it...

    Freelander sticky sunroof

Ok, I'll have a look. It will be worn rails as the motor / switch appears to work fine. I had the light out etc looking if there was anything obvious before. Thanks folks!

    Freelander sticky sunroof

    Freelander sticky sunroof

Alright, my gaylander leccy sunroof hasn't worked since I bought it. This doesn't bother me in the slightest as I run the back window down if needed. My one problem is, there seems to be a gap now between the sunroof seal and the roof. Any idea if I can force it closed manually? :confused...

    Immobilisor minor issue

Thanks for that. Mine is on the top but the aerial cable is shorter than I thought it would be. Seems to be better now. Just don't want to be stranded!

    Immobilisor minor issue

Well I took the dash cowel off and had a look. Everything was tight. I took off the connector gave it a wiggle and a bit of a clean then put it back in. No idea if it's fixed but the remote was working ok. Maybe not everytime but most times which is an improvement. I took pics of the...

    Immobilisor minor issue

Just what I was afraid of! Didn't think it would be easy..... it never is! As I say, not sure if it is the receiver but it seemed logical as both remotes are not working.... I'll have a dig and see if it's something simple. Fingers crossed. Thanks for that Dann.

    Immobilisor minor issue

Thanks for the input but I should have said, I've changed both batteries..... I thought it was the sender in one unit but because both were playing up I guessed it was the receiver.

    Immobilisor minor issue

I have a slight issue with my immobilisor/alarm key fobs. They will lock and unlock however they are a bit iffy. Sometimes they work first time no problem other times (like today) it takes an hour of pushing the button! So I think it's the receiver. Please correct me if I'm wrong...

The guy I bought my Hippo from said he occasionally had a problem with the rear window. He said that the connector got knocked off. He said if you remove the panel you can see if the connector is ok.

Not starting after blocked fuel filter

Folks, my freelander 1.8 came to a juddery stop and I found the fuel filter to be pretty blocked. It's changed out and mounted back in the tank. I turned on the car and got fuel through, I hooked up the fuel line and got fuel through the line. I hooked up the line to the fuel rail and tried...
