Can you get a reliable decent Defender without having to pay over £8000

I had a similar struggle. Wanted to spend no more than £5k and really wanted a 200tdi. At that money, everything I looked at had rot. My main must haves were solid chassis and bulkhead- I see eveything else as a bolt on part and easy to replace. I ended up going ex-MOD and managed a perfect...

    Indicators, Hazards

I pushed the tell tale window into the housing of my hazard switch the day of the MOT. Agreed withe Mr MOT man that it would pass on the day as long as I took it back when I replaced it. He laughed his head off when a brand new switch gave the exact problems you are having - the old one went...

    Persistent decal adhesive

Forgot the easiest, safest and cheapest one - cooking oil!! Gently dissolves the glue and doesn't marr the paint. Dab it on thick then leave for a few mins, then start working it in.

    Persistent decal adhesive

If it isnt clart loads of residue, try scratch-X from meguiars. Its an abrasive so should rid you of the clag. I have used it when I took badges of cars (Dont ask - I tought it looked good at one point!!)

    LT230/LT77 gaskets?

Cheers lads! Certainly looks like a pig of a job, but its ****ing ATF from between and leaving its mark where ever it goes (unfortunately work dont like the mark, and have asked me not to park it in the car park until sorted) I have ordered a few extra seals just in case!!

    LT230/LT77 gaskets?

About to split the boxes to replace a leaky shaft seal, cant find any info on whether there is a gasket between the transfer and gear boxes - any one confirm one way or the other? Really want to get it done in a 1er and not have to wait for parts to be delivered... Thanks Ben
