    Alarm Fun

It's now draining the battery in 24 hours. I'm just going to have the whole thing taken out and rewired. I'm past caring now; if it ends up so as a pig can start it with a spanner, so be it - at least I'll be able to start it. Never get a laserline system folks, no one knows anything about...

I assume it's stock fit: it was wired into the loom.

    Alarm Fun

Dear folks, I finally got to the bottom of what was draining my battery every week. (1996 90 300tdi) It was the alarm. It is a Laserline that is completely unmarked so I can't tell you the model. The battery had parted company from its circuit board at two of the three points of...

    Flat battery .... Again...

A master switch is a great idea. I thought of doing it before I tried everything else but every time I reconnected the alarm would go off (as it used to when I charged the old battery and had to dis and re connect it.) But hiding the switch ... now that's my kind of security. Fantastic idea...

    Flat battery .... Again...

Blimey, that was quick... thanks Ian.. I'm sure the new altenator is ok as it now gets well charged while running. I do have an alarm but I never use it, set it, ... never goes off accidentally.. could this be such a drain? (don't understand alarms, prefer Mr. Bean security.) Otherwise...

    Flat battery .... Again...

Dear folks, Can anyone think of a reason, or even a new area to start to look for a reason why I should have a flat battery every fortnight? It's a 1996, ex Transco, 300series 90. It won't hold a charge for more than a few days of not running - Here's what it isn't: It isn't the...

    Valuation experts - help please

Very likely. :D Yet definitely prefered by me - I had a 200tdi before this one.

    Valuation experts - help please

According to Liverige (where I bought my late 300 series) the 300 series 90 is the most sought after second hand defender. Mine was ex Transco, had 90 odd thousand on the clock, was covered in clay and was £6,800 after they had done a lot of tarting up, put glass windows in the back, removed...

    Is PTO drive possible?

Thanks Slob, I just had a look underneath and that gearbox is huge. Can't see anywhere that the drive could be taken off. They've come on a bit since you could take out the drive through the holes in the bumpers... If I could find the kit to do it, I wouldn't have the first clue as to where...

    Is PTO drive possible?

Hello folks, I wonder if anyone has had any experience with attempting to take a PTO drive off a post series Defender? Or know if it is even possible? I have a 1996 90 300tdi. Many thanks..
