So I've done a gearbox service. Gears changing smoothly. What I have noticed about the Trans fail safe message is that it only does it going in or out of park. Even with the engine off, if I wobble it in park it will pop up with the message.

I went with Morris, great selection. Wish I knew about them sooner!

So I dont think its a power issue does it now and again when going from Drive to other selections. Turn key on and off and it does erase. Think now would be a good time for a gearbox service. I do have some ATF DIII would this be OK got the ZF5HP box?

I suppose a way to test that would be either new battery or attaching battery pack or jump leads and start it up. To see if the fault messages pop up.

Well I've test drove it and picking it up this Sunday I'm addicted to the noise already. My TD6 was lovely but the box went and I put in a second hand one. I wanted the refinery of a petrol so decided to sell and go for 4.4. Obviously nervous with the Gearbox having the said issues on this...

Thank you, not sure if he kept it in the ignition or in the console. But I'm picking her up Sunday. It comes up with trans fail safe on some start ups but I believe this to be because of low voltage

That's what's worrying me. Both pipes snapped in the same place. I seen somewhere someone said the cat could be blocked.

I wouldn't have thought there was that much pressure either. But it's the metal pipe coming from the exhaust side then going into the EGR cooler.

Good evening everyone, So after a new gear box and getting the TD6 up and running 2 days later the EGR pipe coming off the exhaust side and into the cooler completely ruptured, so I replaced the pipe, and 2 days later its completely burst again. I've ordered a blanking plate and I have removed...

Replace with original bits but reconditioned :)
