TD6 speakers not working.

Absolutely! Both amps emit the red light on the fibre optics port. But only one allows me to select the CD changer when plugged in, just no sound.

Very difficult. Missing the TD5 already .

Not sure what else to do at this point.

Emmiting the red light is a start. I think you may need to get it on diagnostics to make sure the messaging is being sent around the MOST bus.
I don't think it generates the light, I think it just receives it and sends it on,

I've got the icarsoft but don't think it's that advanced I was looking into the Gap Tool

It's OK for general bits, clearing faults etc.

It's going in Sunday to have the new gearbox done. At least it'll be driveable then

Are you having your old box refurbished or a recon one fitted. Whichever make sure it has the sonnax valve body.

I'm just looking for a reconditioned one now. I bought a second hand one off ebay. But in all fairness it could be broke. So I'm going to look for one which has been reconditioned, fingers crossed it works.

Just because the red LED is illuminated, doesn't mean it's going to work. There has to be the light for the data to be carried, however if the data is missing or incorrect, the units receiving that data will simply ignore it and pass it on.
It needs proper diagnostics, that's the only way, and yes an Icarsoft will diagnose, it just can't program new units to the system.

Thank you. Unfortunately the Icarsoft won't select the radio on the menu just throws up an error message. I'd like to just complete take out the whole system and put in another system.

Do you mean replace with an after market system, cos that's not easy either.

The bits you've fitted just need to be configured to the vehicle.

How would I go about configuring it to the vehicle? Would that be a dealer Job?

Or a suitably equipped independent. A GAP IID BT could do it too, if there's someone local to you that has one, although it would need unlocking to your VIN for programming to take place.

Have a look at the BMW Inpa soft ware its free but need a cable and works well on a RR you tell it its a bmw x3

Yes it is cable,you can down load the software free or there are places that will sell you the lead and software with some tech support for about £70.
from what has been posted on here it works very well on the l322 and can program and reset most stuff, its just not as handy to carry round in the motor.

Just revisited this while searching for something.
I had this same issue recently which was fixed with a replacement amp. For future info nothing needed recoding it was just plug and play.
