2001 Defender 110 CSW - Random No Start, help with diagnosis

Howdy all, Thought I would come back and update this. It turned out to be the starter motor. I have since replaced it and cleaned the body and engine grounds and I have not had an issue since. People are not joking when the say the top nut on the starter is an absolute pain to get to, think I...

2001 Defender 110 CSW - Random No Start, help with diagnosis

I'll whip it out at the weekend (and also the crank shaft sensor ;) ) and give it a clean. I had hoped it wasn't the starter motor as they are starting to get rather pricey!

2001 Defender 110 CSW - Random No Start, help with diagnosis

Evening all, Was out doing a little light offroading (forestry track), tried to perform a 3-point turn, and stalled the car. Tried to restart and nothing... I Sat for around 25 mins trying the key a few times and then it randomly burst into life. This has happened on two other occasions, the...

Land Rover Defender TD5 110 - No Brake Pedal

Is there any way I can get Def90Man a case of cold beer? They are the MVP. Got the calipers and MC back on, rebled with EEzi bleed, and the pedal has about an inch of travel, the best I have ever had! I think the only way you would ever spot this is to have it seared into your brain by...

Land Rover Defender TD5 110 - No Brake Pedal

I might be the biggest dumping in the soup pot. Both bleed nipples are at the bottom on the front calipers, when I was bleeding I thought it was a bit strange as it was nigh on impossible to get a spanner on them. Well, this might turn into a bit of a late night as I get the calipers swapped...

Defender TD5, White Exhaust Smoke, Possible Fuel Pump?

I hate when you find forum posts with no conclusion. YEs I was very surprised that I didn't blow the thing up, but I must have had a lot of Diesel in the tank!

Land Rover Defender TD5 110 - No Brake Pedal

Hi Lightning, Yes at all four corners, however, I am not sure if its proportional to the pedal travel. I suppose it shouldn't be much to engage the brakes! Also to note, I did not prime the calipers before fitting them. Never had to do this on previous vehicles.

Defender TD5, White Exhaust Smoke, Possible Fuel Pump?

I ended up solving this, rather embarrassingly I had filled the car with a bit of petrol. Due to the different densities, I was obviously running on diesel for a while. Changed the fuel pump, fuel filter oil and oil filter and have subsequently done about 20k miles since!

Land Rover Defender TD5 110 - No Brake Pedal

Evening all, I am hoping someone on here can help me out! The defender is a W-Reg TD5 110 (Year '00) Country Station Wagon. It failed its MOT a few weeks ago on a rusted brake line. I decided as the brakes looked original to replace the entire set thus I replaced - Calipers Front and Rear -...

Defender TD5, White Exhaust Smoke, Possible Fuel Pump?

Evening all, Ran into a bit of an issue with my Defender TD5 110 CSW. The model year is 2000 and I have checked the engine code and found it to be 10P. Truck has been down on power for a bit, had it into an indy specialist as it has been using coolant and I suspected a head gasket based on...
