Update changed the two iffy injectors car runs much better but both engine management lights are now lit! Any ideas?

Update. Problem has not improved so took it to the nearest independent with autologic computer who informed me I need 2 injectors ��. Cost me £50 to find that out at least I know! Anyone else regret buying a Freelander??!!!

Ok so today I got round to finishing off the fitting of my turbo, Cranked it over several times to prime the turbo, then replaced the injector wires and started the engine, left it idle for about 5 mins all good and feeling quite smug with myself!! then all of a sudden started to run rough. So...

Can someone just clarify for me the terms crank case breather and Pcv are they the same thing? So by replacing my original filter for the the BMW cyclone type am I changing my pcv?!! Thanks ! :-/

While trying to remove the last heater plug from my 2004 td4 freelander, it unscrewed just like the rest but when I withdrew it half of it was left behind!! So basically the heating bit on the end and the piece that goes up through the centre of the hex are left behind, anyone got any experience...

finally got my arse in gear and ordered a turbo! better start getting the oil out of the engine has anyone else got any experience of this? is it best to get it out by removing the injectors or the heater plugs?

Agree! How much did you pay? I've found a company called turbo solutions in the uk offering recon turbo with 2 Years warranty for £333 exchange

can anyone recommend a good place to get a repacement turbo for my td4? ive been quoted some very different prices! I dont want to fit one and then have to go through the ordeal i suffered:mad2::mad2: having to remove it again!!!! many thanks in advance!

Having removed the tuning box the problem seems to have gone! engine runs smoother and pulls better?? the tuning box must have been defunked! thanks everyone for the advice and tips! I just hope the problem does not come back!!! anyone else had any bad experiences with a blue spark tuning box?

hi john t, yes it is plugged into the fuel rail I have tried cleaning the plug hasnt made any difference, the problem seems to be only when i put my foot down and the engine is pulling hard it just goes into limp mode.

Car had been fine for over a week after i tried some injector cleaner in her, however on a longer journey 15mins + the problem has now returned :-( where would be the best place to start looking to resolve this p1190 fuel pressure plausibility problem? how can i test the fuel rail pressure...

update! let the mrs take the defender today so i could have a go in the freelander to see if i could experience the issue first hand! After driving for around 10mins the engine management light came on and engine lost power(i assume limp mode!) i switched off them restarted was fine for about 20...

I may take a punt at one of the fleabay jobbies it may be a handy thing to have! if i get no luck ill have to take it to a garage with a proper diagnostic machine!
