Is there a way to check the output shaft without taking the transfer box off or does it all have to come out.

Hi on my 2007 puma defender every time I change up there seems to be a *klank* noise coming from the prop shafts or drive train somewhere. Is this a normal issue and something I have to change about my driving style or a fault. Thanks.

Eventually found the problem. The maf sensor was throwing all sorts of random values. thanks for your help.

It sounds similar to my problem where i brings up a overboost problem and shuts down into limp mode. it will turn off limp mode when you restart the engine. i have yet to find a solution and would be interested to hear how yours is panning out.

i have read that you can disconnect the maf sensor on a disco to test if the turbo and egr is working properly. as the disco uses a conventional turbo, would it be ok to do the same with the vgt turbo in the puma.

Its a 2.4 ive checked all the tubing and didnt see any cracks or splits. i cant remember the fault code as it was wiped after we had it checked but am planning on getting a scanner myself.
