Freelander 2 (LR2) New rear brake pads sticking

What's the procedure for the handbrake adjustment on the Freebie 2 when you do the brakes? Is it likely that it is in need of adjustment?

    Light pod covers

Is this a trap where you get me to admit that I have one I randomly "found"? o_O Your cunning plan won't work on me!:D

    Injector removal help

Injector grease could have been helpful in sticking the washer to the injector body. Search Ebay or similar for it. The Mercedes brand is possibly Febi Bilstein. I would likely go for the Febi, Mercedes or LiquiMoly brands, if I were buying some.

Freelander 1 td4 Strange coolant leak. Suggestions please

It's probably cheaper and quicker for the manufacturers to use the spring clips.

Gaylander 2 horn no longer honks

Try jumping the horn directly to the battery to see if it works. Does anyone else sense the presence of far too many tratterers in this thread? :p

    Shaking at idle

It would be a strong indicator for a bad injector, or that the injector isn't receiving fuel or an injection signal. There's also a low possibility that valves on that cylinder could be stuck open, causing it to not fire, although you should get some indications from an unusual exhaust if fuel...

FL 1 wiper switch/stalk - where to buy

Oh, right. I was thinking worn bushes or something causing a lazy motor. If it works fine in the manual mode, then that does sound like good news for the motor.

FL 1 wiper switch/stalk - where to buy

To me, that would probably suggest a motor problem, rather than the switch. Please comment on whether or not the new switch or cleaning the old switch helps.

Freelander 1 MOT Advisory: offside front side light comes on with horn

Nah, mate. It's a feature on the high-spec models to help the hard of hearing... Your suspicion of a shorted wire is quite likely, but also remember that if the horn has a bad ground, that could also make the current find an easier path back to the battery through the sidelight circuit. Pulling...

    Freelander 1 Cruise control

Maybe try holding both remote buttons down at the same time for five seconds? That's the process for my Mercedes, and the Astra may have been similar.

Full clean of intercooler now it wont start !!

There should be a fuse for the OBD socket to check. Also, I would be suspecting air in the fuel line.

Inlet manifold - best way to de gunk ?

I made the mistake of hosing the inlets with brake cleaner when I cleaned mine and nearly pooped when I started the engine later. There was still enough brake cleaner there to cause the engine revs to run away, and diesel the engine so it wouldn't turn off for an alarmingly long time. Careful...

    Blowing Noise -Turbo Related

Those do look like they're due a change, but don't forget the lower hoses on the intercooler. Aren't too bad to change yourself if you don't mind a bit of grease and grime, along with some scuffed knuckles. Also, a lot of muttered curse words. Remember to have hot water to hand to soften the...

    Oil top up FL2

Deffo, all GrumpyGel's fault. :D Was the oil level on the dipstick looking okay after you topped up? Try not to go over the full mark, aim for just under full as extra oil can cause problems the like of which you don't want to deal with.

    Help…fuel filter issue

The connections round there would be the fuel pump, pretty sure it isn't that one as I don't think the car would run with that disconnected, and possibly a level sensor for the diesel water separator. I don't recall the Freelander having one of those sensors, but I could be wrong.

    Td4 fuel rail pressure problem

Brings to mind an old Datsun Cherry. There were rust flakes in the tank or the fuel line. Flakes used to get through and stop the fuel from getting into the filter and onto the engine. It could be something similar.
