Hi all does anyone know if the disco 3 use the same sunroof mechanism and glass. As a Freeland 1 2005. Trying to find a seal for the glass on mine. And vaguely remember reading some where that they both suffer same proplems. Which has made me think that both models use the same unit

And just a heads up near side gear box seal now no longer available from Land Rover. They only quote for britpart

Can not be any worse than the rear diff kit I got from Land Rover. Oh sorry same manufacture for spares

Thanks for info have managed to open it by gently lifting trim.have fitted new regulator. Just need to figure out how to tension cables as window does not drop down fully I have to pull it down about an inch then it stops.

hi all l need some advice on how to remove trim above tailgate window. As my window regulator has gone and can not open boot to enable repair. And it looks like the trim is removable but is that from inside or outside. Cheers for any help

Sorry that’s 47098 casting for the early diffs

Oh before I forget check diff casting numbers as the made a change mine was a 47089 casting which is the early one the later ones I think start with 51 on the casting. The later one take a larger bearing. Done to try and make them harder wearing. But from I’ve read it just made the castings...

Hi done mine about 2 months ago. Not that hard to do. Worst part is doing up front pinion bolt. As it needs about 375nm torque. Other than that straight forward. Hi all needle bearings on order will update on outcome when done. Fingers crossed it sorts it all out.

Thought of that but did not want to be throwing 3/4 hundred quid at a 55 plate car. Plus enjoy doing my own repairs. No matter how much swearing blood and sweating it takes and these take it all.

Yep all poly bushed torqued to spec. But drivers side inner joint has more play on rotation than near side. New shafts done just before diff bearings. That’s why I’m thinking sun gearing at fault. As said all new pinion bearings and crown carrier bearings all three seals done no leaks at all...

hi all I have just done a full bearing replacement on my rear diff. Very pleased with myself as all Pinon and crown splines aligned lovely. the sun and planetary gears looked ok. But upon refitting am still getting the same knock if but a lot quieter. So am thinking the sun and planet gears...

If bush’s gone try heating bolt threads and if have one rattle gun the bolt that’s how I done mine. Took a while but got there in the end lol
