Just stripped my rover 3.9 v8 . On top of the pistons is stamped the letter M I've looked everywhere put can't find if there standerd or not ? Anyone know?

I purchased a v8 for my series 2 (1958) End of last year . I was informed by the seller it was an 3.5 v8 out of a car from around 1976 ?. I've just stripped it down and the numbers I've found don't seem right . On the head numbers are 36D04692A . And on the block it's 9E691 wyf HTC1800. can...

Hi all. Any one around the Wiltshire area done a v8 conversion on a series? . I'm going to do one on a series 2 and would love to have a look at one and discuss any prob I might come across like what diffs and drive shafts to use . Many thanks .

That's why I need to have a look at one that's all ready done . My series is stripped right down at mo so may be best to fit engine and gear box then work around it when refitting body ?

Hi . I've had my series 2 stripped down in my garage for about ten years now. It's now become time to do something with it . Had a friend who knows more about landrovers than me . He looked at log book and it comes to light I'm third owner and it was the 103rd series 2 off the production line...
