    1987 110 2.5 NA - Metric or imperial threads?

Hi All, Just about to purchase a new set of impact sockets and am looking for verification of what threads are actually used on my Landy. I have checked the official workshop manuals, Lyndsay Porters resotration manual and a crafty look at a hay*es manual in Halfords and I cannot find a...

Clarke Impact Wrenches - any good?

Thanks for the replies. Good point about the battery going flat, certainly every drilldriver I have ever used has a flat battery when I need it. Think it will be the mains powered Clarke one for the general dismantling, not the best tools but as long as fit for purpose it'll do.

Clarke Impact Wrenches - any good?

Hi All, In the market for an electric impact wrench for general dismantling of the Landy. Am thinking about a battery one as this can then be kept in the Landy for wheel changes etc. Does anybody hacve any recommendations or views, especially on the Clarke ones sold at machine mart? All...

    Favourite Landrover Magazine

Morning All, So which is your favourite Land Rover magazine? I am finding Land Rover Monthly has become a bit too "expedition" centric for my liking, it's all about overlanding to Mombasa and that just doesn't interest me. My needs are for fairly sensible landrover use, bit of off road but...

    Best paint for metal bits?

Hi All, What would be your preference for the best paint for axles, brake drums and general metal bits. Have used Hammerite before and in the areas where there is no likelyhood of stones impacting its has worked fine however I have found it chips quite easily. Have been recommended a...

    Plus gas, GT85, WD40 - which one?

Morning All, So which penetrating oil (keep it clean!) do you guys recommend. Finally got the front body work off the 110 after a bit of a scrap and see loads of nice rusted bits and bobs. I am going to buy a bucket of the stuff to drown everything in and would like to get the one with the...

    Registration document (V5) question

Yeah thats what confuses me. Its definately a 1988 Model year (confirmed by the VIN) and the V5 shows it as first registered in October 1988. This seems to confirm that the F plate is real. It did come from Liverpool council mind so who knows maybe I have got a dodgy one !!

    Registration document (V5) question

Thanks for the incorrect and unnesecarily sarcastic answer. The stunningly obvious did come to me as well, was dismissed as obviously wrong. Pity it's registered on a F plate !

    a 4x4 is born??

Download it off Mininova. I did and then editied out all the useless crap. Now got five little files each about 20 mins long with just the good bits left in. He does pass on some useful tips but you have to dig thru the crap jokes to find most of them.

    speed limiter

Thats the one. The limiters are easy to override however : If he had damaged the car and taken it back to the dealer they would have smiled all the way to the bank all the while saying "The limiter has been disabled please deposit lots of cash here!" They dont fit em just for fun (well the...

    speed limiter

Last time I did 80mph I lost count of the number of bits that fell off - didnt do that again. All modern vehicles are limited in some way, either to pass emissions regs or safety laws. The 155 Mph limit on "performance" cars for example. The limits imposed are often a compromise - yes you can...

    Hello - New member here

Hi Garry here, New to this forum and fairly new to landrovers (have driven em but not worked on them). All that is about to change as I am embarking on a rebuild and upgrade of my favourite 1987 110 (Esmeralder - smokes like a chimmney, drinks like a fish, too slow to catch a cold and I...
