    Custom work

I have a nice set of Austin Gypsy clocks, The oil and water temp clock appears to be a simple job of wiring. (If I can bypass the RR dash circuit board, wiring is not my strongpoint but we all have to learn somewhere). I figured the speedo would be easy as its just a straight cable from T/B to...

    Custom work

Thanks for the rep;y! Yes of course I did not think of that initially! I am also unsure about cables. My original thought was to fit a Series Speedo in, knowing that the cable will fit at both ends. But they are very expensive and as I already have clocks I was hoping to make them fit! But do...

    Custom work

I am building a custom truck based on a Range rover chassis and body, I have come to the stage about working upon a new dashboard and clocks. I would like to replace the original Non working 92 RRC speedo etc with more traditional clocks set in a custom surround. Ive found a nice set of Jaeger...

    Modification query?

Ive been slowly doing away with as many electrics on my 92 RRC as possible! Ive now come to the electric windows. Im hoping to replace the electric regulators with the more reliable wind up regulators! Has any ofb yo done this? Is it just a case of swapping them over or is there fiddly and...

    Main bearing seals

Thankyou Lynall, much appreciated. Somebody on another page also suggested using the cork type as apparently they seal better and are easier to fit. The problem I had wasnt so much getting it in, it was when I would get it halfway down millimetre by millimetre, the rubber would just snap and...

    Main bearing seals

Im just in the process of rebuilding my 200 tdi bottom end. However Ive become stuck refitting the rear crankshaft journal. It has two rubber T seals that continually destroy themselves each time I try to slide it into place. Ive got through a fair few now trying all sorts of ways and angles. Is...

    Temp sensor feed wire dead!

Ok so big thankyou for all your replies! especially Ratae, I didnt get chance to deal with the prob the other day, due to finding welding to do! but went out this morning. Removed the clocks, found the green wire with blue trace, and as usual it disappeared into the wrapped loom. So went into...

    Temp sensor feed wire dead!

Yes seems like the best option, although so far no wires have yet proved to match the right colours, lol. But I do love challenges once I have remedied the problems, lol. Thanks for your advice sometimes it takes an outside look to tell me what should be common sense!

    Temp sensor feed wire dead!

Ahhhhhh that makes sense! the pump was removed before I bought it, and rather than replace it Ive just removed the rest of the AC, (only more to go wrong and would have stopped me fitting full size intercooler).

    Temp sensor feed wire dead!

Ive disabled and removed all air con so guess I dont need the top sensor wired up anymore! But cannot for the life of me find any wire that could go to the lower sensor? Would it be just one wire from dashbord guage to that sensor? Maybe I could just make one if it is?

    Temp sensor feed wire dead!

I always assumed that the twin spade sensor on top dealt with the temp guage, as I have been searching for a single female spade clip wire that would go to the sensor on the side for over 6 months now? I removed the engine for a comnplete rebuild but taped all wiring for refitting. I assume that...

    Temp sensor feed wire dead!

Ok thats a worry, was told that was just used as a blank, as I have no wire to go to it. So what is the top sensor with the two male spade clips? As have a wire that goes to that, that has no power through it?

    Temp sensor feed wire dead!

After pulling my 200tdi RRC out of the barn from its rebuild, the temperature guage has failed to work. I changed the sensor with no joy, so while twiddling my thumbs waiting for parts to arrive I decided to test the wires that go to the sensor. And found that they are completely dead. I dont...
