UPDATE! so today i deleted the stupid EGR and cleaned the map sensor (if you havnt done this to your TD5 then DO IT RIGHT NOW!! what a difference!!!) but...i had to take of the acoustic engine cover to do the job, and the 2000rpm noise has pretty much gone! i did notice the cover was sat funny...

egr valve delete, clean up of sensors, fresh oil filters, air filter and fuel filter,new fuel filter housing and ordered new rear anti roll bar links and still got starter motor refurb kit to install amongst many other jobs!

seems like we all have the same problem with these cars, i sometimes ask why we love them so much! today i found myself on my back in the rain tapping the starter motor so it would fire up, still with a smile on my face haha, i must be going crazy! the kit to fix the starter is on ebay, comes...

tried cleaning contacts on starter today and it made no difference, so im happy that the repair kit will be the thing to fix it! realised today that the vibration noise only really happens at about 2200rpm to 2500rpm so i'll live with it for now :)

cheers mate, iver ordered the repair kit for £14, if im gonna get under the car i might as well do something under there and know i dont have to get under to look at the starter motor again any time soon lol. this cars gonna destroy any savings i thought i had! haha

wow! seems like i might just live with it for now haha, theres bigger fish to fry with this car first! ive looked at the red ECU plug and there is/was little to no oil in or on it, i cleaned off what was on it and plugged it back in, the car is still as it was before i checked it, so no issues...

ah, i'll go check now! if it does have oil can it be cleaned out with a contact cleaner? also, would it not cause the car to run a bit rubbish at all times, mine idels super smooth and once past 2800rpm its smooth as silk :S

AND SHES FIXED! i figured why not just go all out and replace the whole filter housing, so thats what i did, a local guy had a nearly new genuine land rover one that he sold me for a very good price, so i spent a hour or so changing it yesterday, bled the system ONCE! and she fired straight up...

ah so thats one less thing to worry about! cheers. im hoping and praying the metal pipe that has broken can easily be replaced, i'll do the filter at the same time as its looking like its seen better days. then spend ages bleeding the system as im sure this car of mine wont just fire straight away!

this is whats broke :( deffo sticking with it, cant get enough of it, its a love hate relationship....i love it, it hates me! one other thing....why dont i have a water sensor on my filter? just a round white cap, the plug is tucked away :/ no lights on the dash etc.

ok so another little update......im pretty sure my discovery is torturing me right now, it knows what buttons to push and its pushing them all at the minute! so i put the car onto coils until i get air parts as i had coils ready n waiting to go on....i noticed the bags were shot! like, 1 of them...
