Well today after a short run of about 10 mile the steering became incredible heavy so I though it had lost fluid after stopping and checking, there was no fluid left in the reservoir, luckily I had some so I filled it up and by the time I got home it was heavy again, checked and it was empty...

I have two reservoirs but only the PAS one is fluid in it the ACE one is empty with no pipes attached ? do all disco 2 have the ACE system or is it possible mine has been removed or was never there in the first place and this was the only reservoir the previous owner had on a repair?

Changed the RF unit and its now opening and closing with the fob, excellent advice from the people on here, on to the starter once I get a break in my work schedule. Thanks again to those commenting. :)

Started with a tow, so I have the key fob signal to sort (bought another RF unit so see if that helps, it gets delivered this week) then the starter problem to resolve, getting there, I also noticed since its been parked for a while in the one place a leak in what looks like the steering...
