still coughing - despite 2 lots of diesel Magic and the pricey diesel! It coughs and chucks out a bit of smoke although doesn't seem to be getting worse - also recently had a service but don't think they actually test drive it to check how it's running! Any ideas much appreciated - thanks

thanks - its automatic but same principal I suppose - just have to wait for neighbour to move their car before I give it a go! Or just do it in reverse.

Morning would anyone have an idea what is happening to my Freelander 2 litre TD4 2006 when driving all fine but around the 40 and 70 mph mark it starts to cough - doesn't loose power - just seems to cough its way past 40 mph and then its ok again - the same when approaching 70 mph cough cough...

Thanks - 2litre TD4 all done charged £636 for 4 reconditioned injectors - like you said had to be done regardless - keeping it a while longer!

Help! Just had fuel sensor replaced now it’s started coughing/chugging again - very similar problem! Garage saying possibly fuel injectors? How many does the car have and are they expensive?? I’m guessing pricey as garage is wondering how long I intend to keep the car???

we have a 'lifetime guarantee' with local garage (came with the car) but bet it doesn't cover starter motor - will check.
