Installing Wolf air filter on 300tdi Defender

Amazing isn't it. I can fix cars, but can I post a pic on this damn forum using Android?! Argh!!!

Installing Wolf air filter on 300tdi Defender

Single bolt fixing works a charm. Wolf box seems a bit quieter, which is nice. Only running main element, and feels a bit more responsive, but could just be the 'new toy' effect.

Installing Wolf air filter on 300tdi Defender

Quite hard to see how they actually mounted it in the pictures of that Withams Snatch. I guess I'll just give a single bolt fixing a go.

Installing Wolf air filter on 300tdi Defender

So, I have a Wolf FPGO70135 air filter box with the specific mounting bracket P777731. But cant seem to figure where the bracket is designed to mount. Anyone have some advice? Would be much appreciated. My truck is a 96 130 300tdi.

Has anyone been to see this Defender 130?

No record of mot history on gov site. I'm no longer considering this one.

Has anyone been to see this Defender 130?

I've been seeking a low miles Defender 130 TD5, preferably in Keswick green, for a while. But not found the right one yet. This (232493024397) has been up for sale many times over the last year. Has anyone actually been to see it? I am a 5 hour drive away, and don't want to risk a viewing...

    Disco 1 Help Please

Took mine out last week. Use a hub socket and a long 'n' strong m8 bolt with a bunch of washers and a nut above them. Centralise the socket over the spigot. Screw in the m8 bolt until it stops. Then wind down the nut and it will pull the spigot out. Note: cheap m8 bolts and nuts will be...

    Disco 1 Well, that's odd...

So, my D1 is in great shape. It was fully rebuilt about 10 years ago, and I've been slowly sorting out any small issues as and when I can afford to. Popped a new DC prop on the front (it has a 2-inch lift and I thought I'd treat it to what it ought to have). Popped a new wide angle prop on the...

    Anyone been here???

A lot. Get the grinder out, boyo. Time to have some fun. You may need to buy some are extensions.

    Anyone been here???

Et33 on a 6j. If you drop to an et8 you are pushing the tyre wall outboard. If you go from a 235/75 to a 285/75, you add almost 3 inches to the diameter. The D1 was not designed to cope with that (in many ways). How about sticking with a 245/75 or a 265/70? Either is +1, and far less to worry...

    Land Rover Discovery 1 tyres 245/75 R16

I have 245/75 x 16 et22 on a 2-inch lift. Have no issues, but probably due to the aftermarket steel bumpers (the rear incorporating a camel cut).

285/75 on et8 is lip off minimum(!).

Yarp. He's long since left the UK.

    Air filter panel... Help needed!

Yeah... You'd have thought so. K&N, Ramair, ITG, all say they have never seen anything like it. Now my thought was, this chap who built it, probably used that panel thinking he could easily source replacements in South Africa. So perhaps a tractor part?

    Air filter panel... Help needed!

So I've bought a Disco 1 that has been modified ten years ago. I'm working my way through ironing out some mechanical issues, and all us going well. But I can't find a replacement filter for the life of me. It's 35mm thick with a square edge, and 135x365mm OD. Does this ring any bells?

    Bonjour!

Hey folks. Rather than lurk for years on end, thought I'd get stuck straight in. Been dreaming of a Defender for years now, but with three kids and limited cashflow its not going to happen, so rather than sulk, I bought the next best thing. Heres a picture of it on the first day of...
