thanks for your teply,and yes only one working fob ,bought this one after the old one packed in.funny thing is similar problem.checked fob battery voltage comes back at 3.33v battery is 3.6 volts.i will do as you mentioned and try fob first ,and then main battery,just checked when i bought this...

also if the main battery was low would this cause the key fob to lose contact with the car.

Hi and thanks for replying,had car about three years battery already on, battery tester says alternator is ok and also says battery is good. but now i am thinking remote,bought this about two years ago and had it programmed and had no problem until now.

i changed the oil in the rear diff, and their was a lot of filings on the nut and the oil was thick and sludgy,probably hasn`t been changed for years.
