Thanks for your replies, I am a bit late looking at forum again, It does drive in 1st select, it also drives normally in D as soon as the wheels turn. Reverse is ok. I have used it for about 3000 miles like this. regards copycat

Hi Guys/Gals Have just used my Disco to tow transit truck out of soft ground, After putting transfer box back to hi the gearbox will only select 1st gear and reverse all others are doing nothing. Any ideas?

Hi Everyone Does any one have any tips on cruise control for a 3.9 Disco, mine doesn't work. I can see split tubes etc. Where do they go and how many? I can see the gizmo with the diaphram by the accel cable. Whats the principle of it. Regards Copycat

No timing lights required! I just first removed electronic pick-up (2 x screw nuts), then took out plate (3 x nuts), then outer rotor shaft and springs and stuff, took shaft to pieces to seperate. Then just reassembled everything and put it back in, turned key and off we go. Hey Presto!!!

It's fixed!! Just took advice from classic Kev. But have just read mjltigger,(now I've finnished) he is absolutely spot on. (There are some seriously small plastic bits in there) Thanks Guys:clap2:

Is the rotor shaft supposed to float and turn about 50 degrees? Everything was perfect half an hour ago.

Hi All I've just removed my distributor cap and rotor arm to check condition, put the rotor back, and cap would not seat right, so on further inspection I found the actual shaft had pulled up stopping the cap seating, so I swivelled the shaft slightly, now the cap seats but engine won't run...

I owned a RRC in '93 and recalled getting about 15 mpg then.

Just got a V8 Disco LPG I was expecting about 15 MPG but am only getting 10MPG. Is there something seriousley wrong? Is this normal? It has done 146000 miles. Any info would be great!!!!!!!!

Hi All!! Can someone help? My aged Disco has been off the road for some time. Since it's return from being MOT'd the engine has been dieing when coming to a halt at lights etc. Upon inspection of the fuel system I have found air in the filter. it would seem that the fuel is flowing back...
