V 8 Auto broke

Hi Guys/Gals
Have just used my Disco to tow transit truck out of soft ground,
After putting transfer box back to hi the gearbox will only select 1st gear and reverse all others are doing nothing.

Any ideas?

only select 1st when you have it in D or can you select 1,2,3 using the selector?

If the answer to the question above is yes Your one way sprag clutch has failed, this can be expensive. Look under FAQs on the ashcroft transmissions website

But in short its fecked!

I know a good specialist in the hampshire, where are you?

Thanks for your replies, I am a bit late looking at forum again,
It does drive in 1st select, it also drives normally in D as soon as the wheels turn. Reverse is ok. I have used it for about 3000 miles like this.
