So it looks like my 2010 Puma dropped a valve. Just waiting on my mechanic to confirm the damage and take it from there. My question is how much would a potential rebuild cost and would I be better looking at buying a re conditioned one or a new one all together. Not sure what the damage is yet...

Automec don't do kits for my model just yet. In fairness to them they did offer to make one up if I supplied measurements for the entire system but I don't have the means or a way to do this at the moment. Leaving it into a local garage to see what they can do. Hopefully it wont be too expensive.

The underside is not too bad actually just some light surface rust here and there nothing too heavy. Will look into the kits a bit more as I couldn't see the one for my car on the link above. I had some braided hoses on previous cars and they did make a difference so will probably put them on as...

Ye not overly impressed that they are corroded so badly that they need to be replaced. Thanks for the links will have a look for ones that suit.

Having failed the CVRT test here in Ireland because the brake lines are corroded I was wondering where I could get some replacements? Is there complete kits sold anywhere? I was also thinking about getting some braided lines added as well or is there any point in them? I have a 2010 Defender 90...

Cheers for the pointers guys time to start getting my hands dirty with it! Its got 75,000 miles. Rear discs and pads are not as good as I thought so will be ordering some new ones.

Just made the purchase on this guy yesterday. After familiarising myself with it on a drive from Melrose to Holyhead I have to say I'm very happy with it. A couple of little niggles with it but nothing major I don't think. Road noise is the first one but I imagine this is a pretty common problem...
