Yeah i think thats the way in going to go. However i would like to keep my gearbox and strip id down to see what actually went wrong, i think ashcroft part exchange or you pay a higher price but will have a look into it. Cheers

Just an update for anyone interested, removed the gear lever cover today to inspect the yoke and linkage. I was hoping that either the torsion sping had come loose or the grub screw had worked its way loose, im sad to say that its none of these easy fixes. Looks like its a box off job. Now to...

Update... Drove less than a mile from home I now only have 1 gear, unsure as to what gear it is but it's a forward gear. Got me home. The gear selector is moving into the gear positions but it won't disengage from the gear that it's in. I have had to put th transfer box into neutral to move it...

if you can't feel hot water in the pipe to the heater matrix I'd look at the control at the valve end, ensure that it is working fully in both directions when the dash lever is operated? Maybe the matrix is just silted up - new ones are only about £35.

just to follow on, i removed the steering wheel with out any real effort, replaced in the new position and is totally fine. thanks for the advice guys.

Yes I had my multi meter on both the wire that powers the cigar lighter and inside the cigar lighter, both reading 9 to 10 volts, also for peace of mind i checked the power lead to the light on the cigar lighter which works fine, this was reading 11.5 volts. I have not checked the battery as of...

After checking through the wires I've found that the cigar lighter is only putting out about 10 volts, I assume it should be closer to 12 as I can't get anything to run from it. I have checked the fuse which is the correct size, now I'm stumped? Any one had a problem like this?
