Soak in WD40, a big hammer and open vice jaws sorted mine.... Yes as the steel started to move it did distort a little, but a run round with a file sorted out any burrs and then a suitable punch/drift to get the steel ring through the ally housing! Chris

I will second fitting the seal to the tank, then fit the sender unit. Tried really hard, with lots of swearing, just couldn't get the thread started. Fitted seal to tank first - dead easy. Hammer and screwdriver worked for me! Chris
