Disco 2 Fuel Tank Vent Pipe (the one with the curl)

No, the ones I took off are different, the pipes clip in from the top so no part touches the top of the chassis. Looking at the various fuel pipe clusters for sale, some come with them, some don't. I happened to buy the ones that don't, so I'll have to work out an alternative.

Disco 2 Fuel Tank Vent Pipe (the one with the curl)

You are so right ! Yes, the QR from the hose in question does indeed connect to the filler tube. It's one of the 4 pipe cluster that connects to the hose that runs up the rail to the engine bay. Now I just need to find a pair of the double pipe clips that are fitted to the top of the...

Disco 2 Fuel Tank Vent Pipe (the one with the curl)

Thats interesting, the end of mine has a QR fitting that joins another hose that runs up the chassis towards the front of the D2 ? Love that chassis by the way !

Disco 2 Fuel Tank Vent Pipe (the one with the curl)

Thanks, but unfortunately that's not the same part - it has a 90deg bend in the pipe and is much longer, with the QR fitting at just one end. The other end is permanently attached to a fitting on the top of the tank.

Disco 2 Fuel Tank Vent Pipe (the one with the curl)

That's a relief, thanks for the information - I'll have a scout about and see what I can find. I've since realised that the problem with a larger bore rubber hose is getting something to fit in the channel in the top of the tank so it doesn't rub on the floor again, but at least I know what I'm...

Disco 2 Fuel Tank Vent Pipe (the one with the curl)

Afternoon all, I've just had to drop the tank from our D2 TD5 as the fuel pipe assembly above the tank has started leaking and spraying diesel everywhere. It was only the one with the green connector that was leaking, but all lines showed signs of wear so I've ordered the group of 4. However...

Wanted D2 Facelift Upper Rear Light - N/S

Has anyone got a nearside (UK passenger side) rear light (the upper one, not the one in the bumper) in good condition they would sell ? Must be the facelift version with the black edges. Just noticed a substantial crack in ours !!

Wanted Headlight Bulb Cover D2 Facelift

Thanks, I did have a look on eBay, just seemed a bit extreme ordering one from the US. I was hoping someone had replaced a busted headlight and would sell me one of the caps off the old one. If nothing turns up then USA it is !!

Wanted Headlight Bulb Cover D2 Facelift

OK, its the white circular bit I'm after - two on each headlight, I need just one. Had to pinch the pic online, my covers are black not white but really don't care what colour !

Wanted Headlight Bulb Cover D2 Facelift

NOW SORTED THANKS TO THE KIND GENEROSITY OF A LANDYZONE MEMBER ! Just found that I'm missing one of the twist in bulb covers on the rear of the headlight on our facelift Discovery 2. Does anyone have a spare one they can sell me ??

    Disco 2 A few faults today - TPS ?

The replacement pedal assembly arrived this afternoon so as soon as my daughter got back from work I pounced on the car and replaced the old pedal. Not a difficult job if you are double jointed ! Anyway, hooked it up to the NT and no fault codes anymore. Took it for a run, much more responsive -...

    Disco 2 A few faults today - TPS ?

Thanks, that's helped a lot. The readings I took seem OK at idle, maybe a bit out at wide open. But the 10v supply I'm seeing is strange, and not sure why no track 3. There was an outstanding software update for the NT which I've now loaded, so I'll try it again this evening and see if it...

    Disco 2 A few faults today - TPS ?

I will try that if I can find one locally. I've also dropped them an email to see why its only reading 2 tracks when there are 3. Its the NT644 Pro, so it does "everything" in terms of diagnostics. I only ended up getting a GAP IID for my L322 because that lets me edit the CCF and play with...

    Disco 2 A few faults today - TPS ?

Thanks sierrafery, just taken the readings and have the following: Pedal NOT pressed: D1 0.73v D2 4.30v Supp 0.00v Pedal Pressed to the floor: D1 3.8v D2 1.3v Supp 10.00v (!!!!!!) Interestingly, the Foxwell is not showing a D3. I think I will have to get a dedicated reader for the D2...

    Disco 2 A few faults today - TPS ?

Having eventually wrestled the Discovery key from my daughter (its her daily driver) I set out on a drive to warm the auto box oil up before a drain and change. As usual, the drive threw up a few more issues that need looking at, but I'm getting used to that now. When we first bought it a couple...

Disco 2 Stripping the ACE block

 now why didn't I (or the machine shop) think of that ? Thanks, came out quite easy in the end What are those bits called ? Going to have to find a replacement for the left hand threaded one as its got a bit chewed up

Disco 2 Stripping the ACE block

I'm converting the ACE pipes to flexible hoses, as per other posts but have run up against a problem. I started stripping the components off ACE block to take it in to get the machining done, but one of the "solenoids" or whatever they are on the top of the block will NOT come out. Even the...

Disco 2 Washer Bottle QR connector

Phew, managed to pick one up at a breakers yard. Its interesting, the headlight washer pump is common to a lot of cars, but I've only seen the Discovery with the QR on the pump outlet - all the others are straightforward pipe connections. That was going to be my backstop if I couldn't find a QR...

Disco 2 Washer Bottle QR connector

Thanks, that's the diagram I have looked at and it doesn't show the part. Part 6 is the headlight washer pump, but it appears to show the pipe going to the bottom of it and just a compression collar - there's actually a quick release connector there as well.
